- I agree that it is not a good idea to buy the Sportster Si models. They are just a
- RPI modem based on a Rockwell RPI Glue 'n Go chipset. RPI modems do not
- have hardware data compression or error correction...you must run a windows
- driver which performs the compression/correction.

- In other words these are lowball modems which do not have all the hardware
- features of most other modems. In my opinion they should be avoided...its a ]
- shame USR slapped the Sportster label on these things -- I consider it a strategic
- marketing error.
